As we navigate a new normal and schools begin to reopen, safety and health are top of mind for everyone. Here at Kinsa, creating an accessible path to health has always been our priority.
Earlier Detection, Earlier Response
Our mission is simple - to help families and communities stop the spread of illness through a network of smart thermometers. Kinsa's school health program, FLUency, does just that. In its sixth year, the program is proven to stop illness from spreading, keeping students in school and learning. It helps parents, school staff and nurses know more about symptoms or illnesses that may be spreading in their school by providing real-time anonymous, aggregated data.
Kinsa + Lysol: A partnership to make healthy classrooms more accessible
By participating in FLUency, nearly 100 schools in Kansas were able to help their students stay healthy and their parents informed. We partnered with Lysol to distribute free Kinsa smart thermometers to families and staff at schools such as Lakeside Elementary and David Brewer Elementary. Schools were also provided with canisters of Lysol to help disinfect their classrooms. With the support of Lysol, these schools were confident in staying open and interacting with their students.
In the past year alone, more than 17,000 schools applied to the FLUency program but D'ana Heinlein, a school nurse at Nickerson and South Hutchinson Elementary, wishes more people could've taken advantage of the program. Heinlein and fellow school nurses know the program works because they've seen a 27% decrease in illness-based absences and noticed 97% of teachers disinfecting their classrooms more frequently ever since Kinsa's thermometers and Lysol's products were being used. These free resources are how families and communities are armed with illness-fighting tools.
